Two Inspiring Metaphors

We met so many incredible and talented students at MB Sanford Elementary School that we very much regret not having more metaphors to share with you. These students are bright, intuitive and wonderfully supportive of one another. We will make an attempt to gather material from them to share with you at a later point. For now we are pleased to share two metaphors that we just couldn't forget.

Kody Bell composed the metaphor ~ Jazz is the Heart of a Young Man

Bjorne White composed the metaphor ~ The Universe is a giant jaw-breaker that goes on forever

These metaphors helped to change our world. From now on we too can think of the Universe as a giant jaw-breaker. We love it! And that is the beauty of poetry, it allows you to express yourself in a way that you wouldn't normally in everyday speach. It can enable you to change someones views.

Kody Bell's metaphor was equally inspiring. It is now the title of a poem composed by Sita Carboni, dedicated to Kody Bell. Her poem "Jazz is the Heart of a Young Man" is presently published on vancouverjazz.com on the gallery page. You can also read it on our Poetry page.
