Jericca Cleland-Hura
Jericca Cleland-Hura has recently reinvented herself as poet,
screenwriter, and director. Having spent many years working as a director of
photography, she is happily retreating to the joys of writing out of her
Vancouver home and focusing wholly on her own projects.
“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is
made of.”—Benjamin Franklin

Selected Poem:
confirmation
i said too much,
i know i did.
we are always better
enigmatic.
unopened,
unspoiled.
this time, i think,
i will be cool,
silent
opaque.
reluctantly yield
my fragrant fragments
perfect,
perverse.
a deliberate mosaic
both incomplete and enthralling.
but, alas, i am human
after all--
as are we all--
beneath shining coats
or dirty skin.
malformed spirits, all,
wanting heavy,
seeking solace,
context,
contact.
confirmation.
