Second Place Winner: Cason Crane

Crying Days

Some days,
I feel like crying.
On Crying Days
I sit on my bed
My face in my
Pillow,
Waiting,
For the tears to come.
I know the tears will come.
It is a Crying Day.
I get a strangling feeling
In my soul,
And suddenly,
An exodus of tears
Comes,
Streaming down
My cheeks,
I do not mean
For this
To happen,
My eyes just overflow.
I do not know
Why there are
Crying Days.
I have
A theory,
Though.
I think
My tears
Are from God,
From a faucet
Turned on
In Heaven.
They cleanse my
Body and Soul
Release the
Excess baggage,
And enable me to carry on,
Until the next Crying Day.
