Third Place Winner: Robin Susanto

The Japanese Dancer

slumps just so from the weight
of having to be so tender and mild.
For being delicate means the graceful violence
with which the loosened petals submit
to the sweeping of the wind.

Passivity is the vocation
of being the birth and graveyard of all actions.
(And she is not estranged from life the way you are.)

0 the losses, no longer lamented
but sighed like that of the falling snow
that melts into a flat, watery smile
and is gone into the grey black pavement.
