Dedicated to Kody Bell, from MB Sanford Elementary School

Jazz Is the Heart of A Young Man

Jazz dances over the ocean
rippling waves of harmony
to the white shore.
A saxophone tune grows tall
leaving imprints of grace
that fall as rain.
A melody of solace
this is my universe
excited, inspired, calm.
Warm like the sun
I grow with the green leaves,
a human tree reaching for
purity of sound.
I am a bird that soars.
I am an elephant that trumpets.
I am the instrument that plays
in the heart of imagination.
A young man sings the rhythm of life.
I record his composition
with thanks.
