Selected Poem:
On Reaching Middle Age
Time changes most things
Looks, perspectives, emotions -
Even the knife-blade of high ideals
Dulls in the middle years
A slowing-down of metabolism perhaps.
Gradually, winning the race becomes secondary
The journey becomes paramount
Quiet smiles, shared times and companionship
Moment of stillness
A glimpse into that core of peace.
And each day you set out
On the unmapped territories within.
