Second Place Winner: Adele Barclay

This is My Tide (uncertain)

well I never thought you'd find me
one lost dance making its way to your centre
who knew the history of a water ballerina could test itself
for this life
this flesh
never knew there could be new hours
for this taste

and yes I portray the face of miss modest
passive-aggressive tendencies
tempting nature
it's certainly something natural
a deliciously comfortable touch
your eyes closed,
I'm just smiling
you'll never know who this is
whispering the ways of a new word
I promise you it was honest
it's all about the state of mind
as you pull something from me
wake up my breath
I stretch my neck
and reach dangerous lips
it's beautiful, it's breathing
it's listening to an inner beating

never knew about sweet sugar
treading close to uncertainty
but I've never felt so grounded so safe
while running on a risky world ocean
no need to leave and dive
these are our waves
this is my tide
