Journey

We are in the process of hiking on a trial
with our donkey train,
slipping on the rocks,
munching on our gorp and snacks
and fruit rollups,
through mountains and valleys
in England,
with the spirit of children
and the destination of age,
unknown footsteps quietly following.
This is the emotional therapy that I need.
I feel one minute like an ant
and the next minute like the grand canyon.
Wow,
who am I?
What luggage am I carrying?
I think of family, there is such spirit,
the warmth of the sunshine lighting the path.
I feel healthy and refreshed.
God I love peanut butter sandwiches
but only with cucumber.
I wish I brought some milk.

Ah.... Hardship
