Inner-City Showers

The rain pours down God’s cleansing tears
children bask in puddles
sailing paper boats down gutter streams,
cleansing filthy urban streets
renewing life from the cold and pain
reflections of death and life,
soaking you insane.
Cooling storm bringing relief
from the heat
skeletal gray lawns spring to life
the downpour of showers
resurrect what was lost.

~ Composed by Allan Drabble, Del and Tim Page.
