Summer Hair
The sun is a big ball of bubblegum
that gets caught in my hair
but the bushes of nature clean my hair.
The fairies come out from the flowers
and get a giant comb
to make my hair smooth
to fly in the air,
to brush my hair
right back to the air
and they fly everywhere.
The trees are umbrellas
they protect us from summer rays.
The stars don't come out
until late in the day.
As the day light goes down
the mountains and moons rise again
the fairies go into the clouds
and play in sandals all night.

Summer Is...
Summer is freedom
summer is joyful
it means no more school
and no more rules
you get to stay up late
while teens go on dates
you get to go camping
you lie down and look up and see the stars
12 weeks have past
it is time to go back to school
it is time to follow rules
all the grade 7's will become grade 8's
this is our new fate!
The Old Tree
The old tree is in my back yard
and it is not too far
I hear the birds sing on my way
while the horses are eating hay
I was at the old tree and I saw the bees
remember when the bees stung me
I'm at the tree I do not see the bees
I don't see the tree
34 years have past
I am 56 years old
I don't see the tree, it is gone
It may be gone, but I still have a bond.
