Second Place Winner: Sally Kang

Those Leaves

They fall to the ground
Like there is no end.
They fall to the ground
On their soft silent land.

They're unbelievably bright
They stand out.
They have those warm colours
That scream out loud.

When you touch them
You feel their veins.
When you feel them
You lose all the pain.

Now the wind blows
They are swept from your hands.
They float far, far away
Can't seem to land.

You can't see them
They are all gone.
As the season of snow approaches
They disappear from your lawn.

But you know
They'll come back.
On their slow, smooth land
Those leaves will be back.
