PANDORA'S COLLECTIVE - ANNUAL POETRY CONTEST

Entry Fees: 
Adults - $5/poem (or 5 poems for $20)
Teens (14 to 19) - $4/poem (or 5 poems for $16)
Children (13 and under) - $3/poem (or 5 poems for $12)

Prizes: 
Adults - 1st: $100 & publication, 2nd: $50 & publication, 3rd: publication.
Teens - 1st: $75 & publication,  2nd: $35 & publication, 3rd: publication.
Children - 1st: $40 & publication, 2nd: $20 & publication, 3rd: publication.

Nicholas Hauck is the founder, and now Advisory Board member, of The Maynard poetry journal. He is also co-editor of Modern Horizons Journal. In the process of completing his PhD in French poetry and theory at the University of Toronto, his translations, poems and essays have been published in Canada and internationally. Author of Walter Benjamin, un essai (Éditions Sémaphore, 2015), current projects include translating an early work by Louis Aragon, and a collection of poems exploring translating the self. He lives in Toronto, teaching French language part-time to pay for habits such as writing and reading.

Jami Macarty is a poet, editor, arts administrator, and community advocate. Currently, she teaches contemporary poetry and creative writing at Simon Fraser University and is an Advisory Board member and an editor of The Maynard poetry journal. A recipient of a BC Arts Council creative writers grant, her poems have been published or are forthcoming in Canadian and America journals, including Arc Poetry Magazine, Beloit Poetry Journal, Drunken Boat, Grain, The Fiddlehead, Interim, and Prism International, among other journals around which lively and necessary community congregates.

Guidelines: We do not accept previously published poems. The maximum number of lines for a single poem is fifty. Poems must be attached in PDF format, typed, with no name or address appearing on the same page as the poem. A separate cover letter must be included, in the body of the email, that lists the age category for your submission, your name, address, telephone number and/or email address, as well as the title of the poem(s) for clarification and the dollar amount paid along with the Paypal confirmation number (or cheque number & details). Poems can be of any theme or form as long as they do not exceed the fifty line maximum. This contest is open to poets world wide.

Guidelines: We do not accept previously published poems. The maximum number of lines for a single poem is fifty. Entries must be in triplicate (please divide poems into three piles), typed, with no name or address appearing on the same page as the poem. A separate cover letter must be included (only one copy of the cover letter is needed) that lists the age category for your submission, your name, address, telephone number and/or email address, as well as the title of the poem(s) for clarification and the dollar amount included. Please do not use staples. Do not send an SASE, the winners list will be published online. Poems can be of any theme or form as long as they do not exceed the fifty line maximum. All rights return to the poet after publication. This contest is open to poets world wide.
