The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew

She never got to walk,
or run a marathon.
She could not stretch her back.
Movement forever forgone.

She had no privacy,
always recognized.
Didn't reach her destiny,
'cause she was paralyzed.

She never got to write,
all of her feelings down.
She never knew her height.
All this, but never wore a frown.

She never got to love.
No walking down the aisle.
No dress, fit like a glove,
but still she wore a smile.

She would search for the cure.
She would always push through.
She really was, for sure,
The strongest girl I ever knew.
