Annual Event:

The Summer Dreams Literary Arts Festival is a multi-day, multi-venue, festival for all ages.

Summer Dreams Celebrates 10 Years of Sharing the Written and Spoken Word
Saturday August 24th 2013
- Trout Lake, Vancouver, BC
It has been over ten years since the idea of the Summer Dreams Literary Arts Festival was born when Executive Director Bonnie Nish, realized there were a lot of on-going literary events each month and a lot of people running those events who could benefit from coming together to highlight what they do for the public.

Nish felt this would also be a great way to bring together and cross-pollinate various aspects of the writing communities in Vancouver. The then-named “Summer Dreams Reading Festival” was born. The free, volunteer-run event has grown to embody the real literary community spirit found here. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, Nish promises an event like none other featuring readings by Joy Kogawa, the Vancouver Poetry Slam Team and music by the Madman’s Gospel Band, and so much more.

As one might expect, putting on a big event with 3 stages, a children's area, a market place and 90+ performers is a lot of work, so the more help the festival can have the better. Volunteers are needed. It’s a great way to meet people and learn more about event planning and Vancouver's vibrant writing community. Those interested can sign up on The website at www.summerdreamsfest.com.

For more information about the festival, including complete directions and line up, check out our website: www.summerdreamsfest.com or email srduncan@shaw.ca or call 604-788-8340
