Workshops Instructors:

Pam Bentley
is a writer of poetry, stories and scripts. She has taught English, Creative Writing, Performance Poetry, and Drama at high schools in the Ottawa area, in Calgary, in Amritsar, India, and at a college in Española, New Mexico. She is now facilitating poetry workshops with Bonnie Nish for Pandora’s Collective, and writing full-time, as well as producing short films, book trailers, and a mockumentary webseries, Vita Bella: The Dogumentary . She has three poetry chapbooks: Enough; If You Can Own a Poem; and Villanelles à deux, a series of 24 villanelles written in dialogue with Terry McDermott. She co-hosts, with RC Weslowski, the weekly show, Wax Poetic, on Vancouver Coop Radio, 102.7.

Jen Currin
has published two books of poems, The Sleep of Four Cities (Anvil Press, 2005) and Hagiography (Coach House Books, 2008). The Inquisition Yours is forthcoming from Coach House in 2010. She has taught creative writing for many years, most recently at Langara College Continuing Studies and the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (online).




S.R. Duncan
Shoe-string Marketing and Publicity Expert S.R. Duncan is a poet, performer, graphic designer, blogger and past host of Wax Poetic Radio Show for many years. His blogs include Commercial Drive Live, BC Entertainment Facts & Trivia and My Life as a Blog.



Warren Dean Fulton is a poetic prospector, panning for gold along the banks of language. He runs a micro poetry publishing company, pooka press. This June, he embarked on a tour, pookapalooza - a poetry roadshow celebrating 15 yrs of pooka press, which brought him to 8 different cities in 6 provinces in 15 days ( Kamloops , Calgary , Regina , Winnipeg , Ottawa , Montreal , Thunder Bay , Vancouver ). He has been published in lit mags, now & then, here & there.
 
Christine LeClerc
, originally from Montreal, now lives in Vancouver. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia. Her work has appeared in 42opus, Dig, FRONT, FU, Memewar, OCHO, Pistola, subTerrain, terry, the Worksound gallery, and is forthcoming in Interim. Leclerc is the author of Counterfeit, a book of poetry published by Capilano University Editions (CUE) in fall 2008. She teaches creative writing at Langara College Continuing Studies.


Bonnie Nish
has been Executive Director of the Pandora’s Collective Outreach Society, a Vancouver charity established to promote literacy and self-expression in our community, for the past seven years. As Pandora’s Director, Bonnie has created programs for all ages and facilitated writing workshops in a wide variety of Vancouver elementary and high schools, libraries, drop-in centres, and festivals, including the Vancouver Public Library Book Camp. Overall, she has twenty years of experience working with children and adults in a range of capacities. In recent years, Bonnie created and maintained the Loonie Backpack Drive to provide kids in Zimbabwe with school supplies. She’s also a widely published poet, with writings in journals such as Quills, hackwriters.com, blueprintreview.com, and several anthologies.


Marni Norwich has facilitated writing workshops in educational facilities, community centres, drop-ins, and prisons for over sixteen years. Her poetry collection, Wildflowers at my doorstep (Karma Press, 2008) recently won an Independent Publisher Book Award. She’s a regular reader at benefits and events around Vancouver and has performed her work as part of the dance and music ensemble, Bad Poetry. Marni works as a writer/editor with her business, Inkcat Media (inkcatmedia.com). She’s also an independent journalist whose articles have appeared in many Canadian publications, including the Globe and Mail, the Georgia Straight, Profit, and Herizons.

  

Shannon Rayne is an accomplished performance poet and storyteller who has facilitated creative writing workshops for over five years. She is the workshop facilitator at the Fearless Writers Circle in Vancouver's vibrant Downtown Eastside and has led writing and performance workshops in elementary and high schools in the Greater Vancouver area and in cities across the country when on tour. Shannon has also worked in the field of addiction and mental illness and has taught writing workshops geared toward self-expression for those in recovery and transition. She has performed at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, the Vancouver International Storytelling Festival, and Under the Volcano Festival. Her work has been published in broadsides and chapbooks by dirty rat pack press and pooka press and has appeared in other publications and literary journals.


Eva Waldauf
has been an exhibiting artist in both Vancouver and Toronto for 23 years. She creates Collage/Mixed Media Art, Acrylic Paintings, Woodcut and Lino block Prints and Sculpture. She has taught Acrylic Painting and Collage for 31/2 years at the Vancouver School Board, and has taught Acrylic Painting and Sculpture at Community Centres & private classes for 4 years. Eva has also been writing Poetry for 71/2 years, and reading poetry for the last 4 years. She enjoys incorporating words into her Collage art and paintings.
