Pandora's Collective & The JCC Present ART & POETRY IN THE GALLERY Free admission Poets will respond with original work inspired by the art exhibit. Bring paper and pen. There will be an open mic time when the audience will have an opportunity to write and read poems relating to the exhibit. Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm Featured Poets: tba Art Exhibit: Finding Home by Jeannette Bittman, Andrea Dillingham-Lacoursiere, Eri Ishii Exhibit Runs: January 7 – February 2 ARTISTS’ RECEPTION: Thursday, January 22, 6pm – 8pm ART & POETRY IN THE GALLERY: Jan 27th, 6:30 - 8pm “Finding Home” brings together three artists whose practices explore belonging as an evolving relationship rather than a fixed place. For Andrea Dillingham-Lacoursiere, home is shaped through an unflinching dialogue with Lasqueti Island, where grief, weather, and the shedding bark of arbutus trees teach reciprocity and humility. For Jeannette Bittman, home gathers around the table—a site of nourishment, memory, and connection central to Jewish life and to the shared rituals that anchor us. For Eri Ishii home exists in the emotional landscape of immigration, where the tension between fitting in and cultural inheritance becomes a form of self-portraiture. Together, their works reveal home as something forged through presence, vulnerability, and the ties that bind us to land, to others, and to ourselves.
