An Interactive Writing Workshop on the Theme of Food!
Taste your way through a smorgasbord of evocative writing exercises. This two-hour workshop will enlist your senses and stretch your imagination, inviting you to write about food memories, allergies, guilts, and desires. Whether you’re a vegetarian, flexitarian, or omnivore, you will come away with a notebook and a belly full! Cost: $25, light snacks provided Facilitator: Jami Macarty Jami Macarty is a poet, editor, arts administrator, and community advocate. She teaches contemporary poetry and creative writing at Simon Fraser University, works as a Poetry Ambassador for Vancouver's Poet Laureate, Rachel Rose, is an editor of the online poetry journal The Maynard, and blogs on Vancouver’s arts community for Drunken Boat. A recipient of fellowships from Banff Center and BC Arts Council, her poems appear in American and Canadian journals, including Arc Poetry Magazine, Beloit Poetry Journal, The Fiddlehead, Grain, Prism International, Vallum: Contemporary Poetry, and Verse Daily. 20 participants maximum Writers of all backgrounds welcome!
